Gosha: genome sequences, hot and cold

A couple of years ago, while studying extremophilic microorganisms, we were struck by a critical gap in our knowledge: although we can easily sort sequences based on phylogenetic origin, we lack tools to group them by the similarity of their growth conditions. As a result, genomic data and growth condition data remain siloed, preventing scientists from systematically studying how sequences of conserved genes (and structures of corresponding RNA and proteins) adapt to certain growth conditions.

This database bridges this critical knowledge gap. Developed by scientists for scientists, it advances our understanding of how biological molecules adapt to specific temperatures by consolidating experimental data on the optimal growth conditions of diverse species.
